Ramayana is a millennia-old biographical sketch of Rama that has resonance across the diverse cultures of more than 100 nations, far beyond the boundaries of language and religion. The ancient biography about Shri Rama is translated into over 300 versions and is being counted. There is an encrypted message within every one of the 24000 slokas of Valmiki Ramayana, and this could benefit humanity in a new way should we be willing to listen.

In this class we will explore the entire tale of Ramayana with participants as 25 stories. Each sub-story as well as the characters that are involved will be an essential important lesson. In a variety of instances throughout the course, we'll stop, contemplate an actual scenario, and then consider what Rama or the Ramayana character would be doing in that particular scenario.

The course will thoroughly examine all aspects of the Story of Ramayana, Various Characters of Ramayana and the lessons from the Ramayana in a modern context, the geographic map, the historical and the relevance to our times of the Ramayana

Class Structure:

There is at least one contact hour with faculty each weekly for each of the 10 weeks. The course is designed to encourage discussions and debates that is based on reflection and self-study every week. The content that is discussed in the class will be finished in 60 mins, discussion is free and may last up to 30 minutes.

In the course, students are required to write two brief essays or presentations. These needn't be professional-grade papers however, they should be based on the students' reflections on what they have learnt and taken in up to now. Questions will be included in LIVE class sessions as well as home assignments, so that students are able to learn all the details of the epic epic that is Ramayana.

In this course , students can:

Learn about the journey that is Rama and its many variations as told by Sage Valmiki in the Valmiki Ramayana. Valmiki Ramayana

Know the various characters in Valmiki Ramayana and their roles in the narrative

Analyze different scenarios, relationships characters, and incidents from Valmiki Ramayana and observe and be aware of the eternal message in every one of them.

Explore the geographic journey Rama traverses starting from Ayodhya up to Lanka and then observe it with regard to the latest international and national maps of India

Discussion and debate on various aspects of the historical significance of Ramayana and its dating Ramayana and Science to explain the mysterious appearing incidents of Ramayana
